Yangon Region government received the donation of mask and hand sanitizer and cash assistance from the Republic of Korea, Myanmar Engineer Association, International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Myanmar), MBCF Foundation: Myanmar-born Chinese Youth Charity for the COVID-19 control activities yesterday morning in Yangon. At the donation ceremony, Chief Minister for Yangon Region U Phyo Min Thein said that the Yangon Region government has been working hard to provide the best service to the people and in accordance with the COVID-19 national committee and also performing well in the COVID-19 prevention, control and treatment activities.
He expressed words of thanks for the donations of the Republic of Korea, local donors and religious associations for the COVID-19 treatment.
After Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Myanmar Mr Lee Sang-hwa had explained the reason of donation, he handed over the 70,000 masks worth of $70,000 and 120 bottles of hand sanitizer to Yangon Chief Minister U Phyo Min Thein and the Chief Minister returned the certificate of honour. The donation was donated by Embassy of the Republic of Korea, Korean Association in Myanmar and SG Safety Myanmar.
Myanmar Engineer Association; Myanmar International Consulting Engineers donated K31 million, International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Myanmar) donated K10 million, MBCF Foundation: Myanmar-born Chinese Youth Charity donated K 8,015,000 and the Yangon Region Chief Minister returned the certificates of honour. A total worth of $70,000 masks and hand sanitizers and K49,015,000 cash assistance were donated for COVID-19 disease prevention, control and treatment activities in the donation ceremony yesterday.—Nyunt Ko Ko
