A young man was struck to death by lightening when he was spraying anti-grass disinfectant in a paddy field in the village of Thabyay Kan in Bogalay township, Phyabon township, Ayeyarwady region yesterday afternoon.

The young man was Nay Tun Aung, 16, son of U Hla Shwe of Thabyay Kan village. The father and son were spraying the disinfectant in the paddy field when the incident occurred. The young man suffered bruises on the neck and the left back.

The dead body was taken to a 100-beded hospital in Bogalay town for medical observation.—Moe Zat (Bogalay)
