The Youth and Health Forum 2023 in Rakhine State was held for the first time on 10 Novem­ber in Sittway Township, as re­ported by Dr Kyi Lwin, Head of Rakhine State Department of Public Health and Medical Services.

 

The forum aimed to en­hance the health knowledge of future generations. The mes­sage was conveyed to ensure that health-related informa­tion is readily accessible.

 

“In the state, young peo­ple typically face issues relat­ed to drugs, and it has been observed that there are in­stances of death due to traffic accidents. This forum aims to enhance health knowledge, enabling individuals to rec­ognize the dangers of drugs and understanding mental health problems related to the subsequences of drug abuse,” said Dr Kyi Lwin.

 

The Youth and Health Fo­rum 2023 was held for the first time in Sittway Township. In addition to discussions and lectures on health research, medical exhibitions were also displayed at the forum.

 

At the forum, a mental health specialist led a discus­sion on essential aspects of young people’s mental health, including discussions about reproductive health, the dan­gers of drugs, hazards related to food and cosmetics, and talks about traffic safety. Ad­ditionally, group discussions were reported to have taken place.
