Officials from the Department of Disaster Management under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement provided cash and kind to the fire victims from Kontan Ywathit in Mawlamyinegyun Township, Ayeyawady Region on December 6.

A home was burnt to ashes after a fire broke out in the village at around 10 p.m. on December 6, making three family members homeless. The fire is believed to have been started from ember in the kitchen.

Township Administrator U Zin Min Htay and officials from the DDM furnished the fire victims with Ks 100,000 for buying construction materials, Ks 6,300 for rice plus relief items on a door-to-door basis.
