Onion growers cultivate onions as a winter crop along the Chindwin River in Yesagyo Township, Magway Region. Now, the onions are being harvested and the growers expect to fetch better prices, according to local farmers. 

Last year, local farmers earned from K 1,500 to 2,000 per viss and now the onions are being sold at K 350-500 per viss. Therefore, the local farmers are expecting to get better prices in this onion season.
