The construction of Kyunpyathat Bridge (Tha-yoot-myike) near milepost 22/4 on the Bogale-Mawlamyinekyun-Kyonemangae-Wakema-Myaungmya Road in Wakema Township of Ayeyawady Region has been completed, and the officials conducted the bridge load testing on the morning of 16 December. The team led by Director U Zaw Linn Mya for Quality Control of the Department of Bridge under the Ministry of Construction conducted Static Load Test with 20 tonnes eight 10-wheel trucks and the result showed Fit for Service for the bridge.


The bridge is 750 metres in length, 9.5 metres in width and has a one-metre long pedestrian walkway on each side.The bridge is a steel box girder with the floor of reinforced concrete and can withstand up to 60 tonnes of weight. The middle bored piles of the bridge are 1.5 metres and 1.2 metres in diameters and the clearance is 40 ft and waterway under the facility is 240 ft. The local people will be able to travel across the bridge very soon, according to Bridge Group (2).
