An event to launch a rural electrification project was held in Kawpatchan Village in Leiktho town, Kayin State on December 20.
The rural electrification structure was formally inaugurated by Kayin State MP Saw J A. Win Myint, Town Administrator U Saw Myat Kyaw, officers from the Electricity Supply Enterprise and Department of Rural Development, and Major Aung Htwe, Battalion Commander of No. 5 Light Infantry Regiment by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.
The lawmaker delivered an address and the town administrator expressed words of thanks. An official from the township ESE shared knowledge about the risks of electricity and another officer from the DRD clarified matters relating to the rural electrification plan.
The electrification facility, the fifth of its kind in Leiktho Town, is expected to benefit more than 120 households in the village.
