Union Health Minister Dr Thet Khaing Win, currently in India, received a delegation led by Shri Sarbanada Sonowal, Minister of Ayush & Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, yesterday evening in Guwahati, India.

Both sides frankly dis­cussed and exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in the development of the traditional medicine sector, teaching from Indian tradition­al medicine practitioners at the University of Traditional Med­icine (Mandalay), exchange of knowledge scholars from India in annual conferences of Tradi­tional Medicine Practitioners in Myanmar, traditional med­icine research paper reading sessions, mutual study tours of traditional medicine experts from both countries, scien­tific research on traditional medicines, and exportation of high-quality traditional me­dicinal raw materials.

In the evening, the Union minister and delegation mem­bers enjoyed a dinner hosted by the Ministry of Ayush, India. — MNA/TS
