According to the report of the afternoon of 16 August, the death toll has risen to 32 after a landslide occurred at an old jade block of Myonwe Company in Mana Hmaw in Ayemyathaya Ward in Hpakant Township, Mohnyin District, Kachin State.

Officials of Ward Administration Team and members of social organizations conducted the search for the remaining individuals who are still missing. On 15 August, 25 bodies have been recovered and on 16 August, seven bodies have also been recovered by rescue teams.

The incident occurred at the old block on 13 August and seven injured people are receiving medical treatment at the People’s Hospital in the township.
