The 31st FEIAP General Assem­bly and the 7th Special Distin­guished Lectures took place at the Grand Aster Villa Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, hosted by the Myanmar Engineering Council and the Myanmar En­gineers Federation.

 

The event commenced with a video message from Union Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than, Vice-President of FEIAP and Panel of Patrons of the Myan­mar Engineering Council. Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Panel of Patrons of the Myanmar Engineering Council, expressed pride in hosting the assembly, emphasizing the rapid progress of Myanmar’s engineer­ing recognition within FEIAP.

 

FEIAP’s mission to promote engineering best practices for socioeconomic development across Asia and the Pacific re­gion was underlined, with a focus on sustainable engineering for the future of construction.

 

Conference attendees were encouraged to innovate by the union minister, and remarks were delivered by Professor Dr Nyi Hla Nge, Panel of Patrons of the Myanmar Engineering Coun­cil, and Professor Mr Huang Wei on behalf of the FEIAP president.

 

The conference continued with discussions and paper pres­entations, involving local and international intellectuals and authors.

 

A dinner hosted by the My­anmar Engineering Council and the Myanmar Engineers Federa­tion featured Myanmar cultural performances as a gesture of hospitality to conference repre­sentatives. — MNA/TS
