A total of 11 Basic Education Schools are temporarily closed due to the inflow of water from the Irrawaddy River in Myanaung Township, Ayeyarwaddy Region, according to the Township Education officer’s office.
11 schools including seven basic education primary schools, two middle schools and two sub-middle schools in Myanaung Township are temporarily closed from September 9 to 15, and the days to substitute for the closed days have been set.
But no casualties and damages have been reported due to the inflow of water. When the floods recede and schools are reopened, under the leadership of the Township Administration Body, the relevant ward administrators, healthcare workers and local residents will jointly conduct mass cleanup campaign inside and outside of the school.
