A specialist team from Yangon General Hospital, Yangon Children’s Hospi­tal and Specialist Hospital 500-bed in collaboration with medics from Maw­lamyine General Hospi­tal performed medical treatments for residents in Mon State on 16 and 17 September.

 

 

During their two-day visit, the medical team provided treatments to 119 patients with heart dis­eases, 76 gastroenteritis patients, 92 neurological patients, nine neurosur­gical patients, 109 neuro­logical child patients, 19 patients with hematolog­ic disorders, 287 patients with general conditions, 55 patients with diabetes and nephrological conditions, 97 patients with physiolog­ical conditions, 26 dental patients, 26 patients with eye conditions, four pa­tients with ear, nose and throat conditions, 86 or­thopaedic patients, and three obstetrics and gyne­cological patients, totalling 1,008. The specialist team made medical examina­tions for the patients with the aid of respective diag­nosis machines.

 

Apart from patients in Mon and Kayin states, those from 10 townships of Mon State and three townships of Kayin State were also benefitted from the treatment of mobile specialist team.

 

In addition, arrange­ments were made for the transfer of two patients who needed further treat­ment for neurologic, three patients needing neuro­surgery, 10 patients need­ed treatment for heart dis­ease and two patients who needed treatment for gas­troenteritis procedures to Yangon General Hospital. Similarly, 12 children who needed treatment for child neurologic referred to Yangon Children’s Hos­pital.

 

The specialist team has treated three times in Sittway, Rakhine State and similar programmes have already been conducted in Pathein, Taunggyi, Mag­way, Pyay, Meiktila, and Myeik townships. And this initiative will cover other regions and states. — MNA/KZL
