The Kayin State Chief Minister stated during the September 2023 meeting of the Kayin State Regional Tourism Committee that Kayin State, boasting nu­merous natural caves and tour­ist destinations, is set to become a popular spot for both domestic and international tourists.

 

He expressed, “Given that our state offers exceptional tourism and recreational op­portunities with its lush forests, mountains, springs, and natural caves, I encourage responsible officials to proactively prepare, ensuring that domestic and for­eign tourists are enticed to visit again.”

 

Myanmar boasts numer­ous tourist attractions across its regions and states, and in Kayin State, one such attrac­tion is the historic Mahar Sadan Cave located near Kotwarsuu Village in Hpa-an. The Chief Minister further emphasized the importance of collaborat­ing with committee members to promote regional tourism de­velopment. Key considerations include facilitating convenient access to the ancient historical Maha Sadan Cave, the ancient reclining Buddha, unique nat­ural rock formations, cave wall carvings, and stupas within the cave.

 

Kayin State is endowed with vast natural forests and offers around 20 notable tourist destinations, including the icon­ic Mount Zwekabin, Bayinnyi Cave, Yathaypyan Cave, Sanda Cave, Kawgon Cave, Kawkath­aung Cave, and the Chitthumy­ine Resort. — TWA/CT
