Strong winds blew off roofs of 128 buildings including a school and houses and destroyed 12 houses in Nattalin Township, Bago Region on 16 January.
Due to strong winds, roofs and zinc sheets from houses were blown off and twelve houses were fallen down and some houses were destroyed. The estimated damage to property damaged by strong winds was K 8.9 million. But no casualties were reported in the incident, according to the Township Disaster Management Department.
Under the supervision of the Township Disaster Management Department, victims of strong winds are currently taking shelter at the homes of their relatives and are provided with necessary assistance by local authorities.—Wai Yan Phyo (IPRD)
