According to the Myanmar Police Force, K 2.92 billion worth of stimulant tablets were seized in Thazi Township in Mandalay Region.

 

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of Anti-Drug Squad searched a motorbike driven by Ye Zaw Oo near Bayangasu Village in Thazi Township at about 12:00 pm on January 18 and confiscated 390000 stimulant tablets.

 

As a result of the investigation, a joint team discovered 589000 stimulant pills hidden in corn field located near Suupokkan Village in the Township at 4:00 pm on January 19. In a similar incident, the combined team discovered 975000 stimulant tablets in old charcoal stove in the forest near Yinmabin Village in the Township.

 

After making some interrogations, a combined team arrested a man, identified as Soe Naing along with a motorcycle in connection with the cases in Shanywar Village in Thazi Township at 7:00 am on January 23. The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law and further investigations are underway.—MNA
