Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi visited the athletes representing his ministry who are preparing for the Fifth National Sports Fes­tival yesterday.

 

The Union minister observed the training sessions of the men’s sepak takraw team at the Lewe Township Sports Hall as well as the men’s volleyball team and (men’s and women’s) track and field teams at the Wunna Theik­dhi Sports Complex.

 

During his visit, the Union minister met with the athletes, offering words of encouragement. He advised them to train hard with determination and a spirit of sportsmanship, striving to repre­sent the country with honour and excel in their respective events. The Union minister also provid­ed financial support and sports equipment to the athletes.

 

A total of 90 athletes repre­senting the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation will participate in five sports events at the 5th Na­tional Sports Festival, including men’s football, men’s volleyball, men’s sepak takraw, track and field (men’s and women’s), and golf for male athletes. — MNA/ KZL
