A  total  of  19,492 acres of bean varieties have  been  planted  in  Kyunhla Township, Kanbalu District  of Sagaing Region this cold season, according to  the  Township  Agriculture  Department.  

“The Township Agriculture Department has earmarked to grow 19,793 acres of bean varieties this year’s winter crops growing season. But local farmers have already planted 19492 (98.48%) acres of varieties of bean”, said Daw Myint Myint Yee, staff officer of the Township Agriculture Department. “Now, farmers are trying hard to expand their sown acreage of bean varieties in the Township year after year” she added.

In this year’s winter crops growing season, the Township has earmarked to grow 19,793 acres of bean varieties but as of now, 19492 (98.48%) acres of varieties of bean, including 11535 acres of green gram, 18 acres of butter bean, 241 acres of chick pea, 5215 acres of green pea, 2132 acres of blue phaseolus lunatus bean and 351 acres of lens esculenta have been cultivated.—Myo Win Nyo (Kyunhla)
