THE second round of selection for the 2024 Myanmar Academy Awards receptionists concluded on 22 December, narrowing down 90 candidates from the preliminary stage. The finalists for the final round will be announced on 25 December.
The initial interviews for the receptionist positions were held on 15 December, where 90 participants were shortlisted from over 280 applicants.
“The second round has been completed, and we will announce the finalists on 25 December. Each year, the selection process faces its challenges, but the judges remain impartial, awarding points based on merit. Selecting only around 20 finalists from over 200 candidates is a difficult task,” said Vice-Chair U Aye Kyu Lay of the Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization.
The judging panel for the selection includes renowned Academy Award winners such as Yan Aung, Ye Aung, Soe Myat Thu Zar, May Than Nu, and other senior artistes. The 2024 Myanmar Academy Awards event is set to occur in February 2025. — ASH/TRKM
