THE Yenantha Dinga Brothers Parahita has announced that it will plant 10,000 more shade trees along the roadsides of Magway, Yenangyoung, and Chauk in 2025.
More than 30,000 trees have been planted in the Philanthropic gardens in those areas in central Myanmar, and plans are underway to plant 10,000 more shade trees in vacant lands this year.
“We will water them. We are preparing to plant trees in the rainy season in 2025. We will plant tropical plants such as banyan and rain trees in the vacant spaces of the gardens that have already been planted along the left and right sides of the road in Magway, Yenangyoung and Chauk. Our goal is to plant 10,000 trees a year. We have started digging pits and selecting land. We will start planting when the rainy season arrives,” said Ko Yenantha Dinga, founder of the group.
Planting trees in these gardens began in 2022, and there are now nine gardens filled mainly with neem, tamarind, eastern gooseberry, mango and rain trees.
To ensure the survival of the plants, the gardeners are provided with houses in the gardens and financial support as maintenance fees. — Thit Taw/ZN
