UNION Minister for Energy U Ko Ko Lwin and officials from the Ministry of Energy visited the applied research department of the Myanma Oil and Gas En­terprise in Yangon Region yes­terday morning and highlighted research and collaboration pri­orities.

 

The Union minister met departmental officials in the conference hall and stressed the importance of systematic research and laboratory opera­tions to obtain accurate results critical for petroleum and natu­ral gas exploration. He urged ad­herence to the ministry’s “2025, the Year of Myanmar Energy” motto and emphasized the need to collaborate with relevant uni­versities for field research aimed at identifying new oil reserves and natural gas deposits.

 

He called for producing project-based research publica­tions and advancing to applied research levels. He emphasized maintaining lab equipment, training staff, sharing exper­tise, and staying updated with technology. He also instructed officials to address the education and healthcare needs of staff and their families under corporate social responsibility (CSR) ini­tiatives.

 

Union Minister U Ko Ko Lwin also inspected ongoing laboratory activities, the staff library and employee housing facilities and addressed neces­sary improvement during his visit. — MNA/KZL
