THE Shwe Minn Tha Foundation (Myanmar) stated that it will offer free vocational training courses for people with disabilities in February at its headquarters in the MAC Tower, located in Lanmadaw Township, Yangon Region.
The planned training courses for the disabled, including fashion designing, electronics, and basic and advanced computer courses, will start on 13 and 22 February.
“The courses will start in February, with plans to offer them every two months. The types of courses include Fashion Designing, Electronics, and Computer (basic and advanced). The Fashion Designing training will begin on 13 February and will be held six days a week, from Monday to Friday, for a total of six weeks. The Electronics training course will start on 22 February and will be held on Saturdays and Sundays for a total of five weeks (10 days). Computer training (basic and advanced) will also begin on 13 February, with participants attending five days a week, from Monday to Friday, for a total of six weeks,” said an official from the foundation.
The foundation also connects disabled trainees who have completed the training with job opportunities both locally and abroad. Additionally, it is collaborating with GIC Myanmar to provide overseas job opportunities for people with disabilities. — ASH/TH
