THE 78th Union-Level Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Expo that will take place near Uppatasanti Pagoda, Nay Pyi Taw from 10 to 14 February 2025, will present 31 awards in six categories, Daw Nyein Aye, deputy director-gen­eral of the Small Scale Industries Department.

 

Businesses showcasing One Region One Product (OROP), export businesses, im­port-substituting businesses, agriculture and livestock-based businesses and value-added products using locally sourced raw materials, and products from regions and states can be observed. It will also bring networks for business people to produce value-added products. About 53 MSME entrepreneurs are expected to show­case over 200-300 products at the MSME expo.

 

“Participants will be awarded under six categories; Micro Enterprises, Small Enter­prises, Medium Enterprises, small-scale indus­tries such as food processing, consumer goods, weaving and handicraft businesses, OROP from 15 Nay Pyi Taw, Regions and States and per­formance of cooperatives, including first price worth K3 million, second price worth K2 million and third price worth K1 million,” said Daw Nyein Aye.

 

Additionally, awards for small-scale entre­preneurs include four modal awards for food products, consumer goods, traditional weaving products and handicrafts valued at K1.5 million each. The winner of the OROP award will receive K3 million, she continued.

 

Displays of local products of the represent­atives of each region and state, traditional food, MSME products and musical performances will be featured as well. — ASH/KK
