THE first-ever cultural heritage and art fair in Myanmar, organized by the Italian Embassy, was held from on 23 February 9 am to 9 pm at the Italian Embassy on Inya Myaing Road, Bahan Township.
The embassy collaborated with two local organizations — Doh Eain and Our Heritage Homes — to organize the event.
The Doh Eain organization participated in the exhibition as a panellist in a conversation titled ‘Sense of Place’ and also included a programme called ‘Downtown in Memories,’ which everyone in attendance could participate in throughout the event.
The ‘Sense of Place’ conversation discussed how shared spaces in society impact and connect with both the environment and its residents. The ‘Downtown in Memories’ programme will explore historical and heritage sites in Yangon, such as the Lokanat Building, book stalls along the roads, the Yatha Tea Shop, and the Post Office. — ASH/TH
