THE award ceremony for the 31st Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, Air) Military Band Competi­tion, held in honour of the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day, took place at the parade ground of the Nay Pyi Taw Transit Centre.

 

The event was attended by the Armed Forces Day Or­ganizing Leading Committee Chairman and Chief of Armed Forces Training Lt-Gen Htein Win, along with Chief of Staff (Navy) Vice-Admiral Aye Min Htwe, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Maj-Gen Soe Min, senior Tatmadaw officers, com­mittee members, judges, con­testants, and guests.

 

The ceremony began with the competing military bands saluting Lieutenant General Htein Win and the national flag, followed by a four-oath recita­tion. The award presentation then commenced, with Lt-Gen Htein Win presenting prizes for military band leadership skills in Level B. The third prize was awarded to the leader of Band 1 from the Triangle Region Com­mand, the second prize went to the leader of Band 1 from the Nay Pyi Taw Region Command, and the first prize was present­ed to the leader of Band 1 from the Coastal Region Command.

 

Next, awards were pre­sented for Level A. The band leader from the Defence Ser­vices Academy received the prize for best military band leadership skills. The Triangle Region Command Band and the Southern Command Band won the team-wise special award in Level B. The third prize in Level A went to Band 1 from the Central Command, the second to Band 1 from the Yangon Region Command, and the first to Band 1 from the Nay Pyi Taw Command.

 

Additionally, the special award was given to the Defence Services Academy Band. The third prize was awarded to the band from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Air), the second prize to the Myanmar Police Force Band, and the first prize to the band from the Of­fice of the Commander-in-Chief (Navy).
