Thegon, 3 March

To enhance farmers' income and ensure local food security, Thegon Township in Nattalin District, Bago Region, has planned to cultivate 17,542 acres of summer paddy during the 2024-2025 planting season.

Farmers from 31 village tracts in Thegon Township are growing summer rice varieties such as Yadana Toe, Vietnam, Re-90, and YSR-1. Of the total planting area, 58.44% has been cultivated using advanced methods including seeder systems, Drum seeders, and hand-held self-propelled rice planters.

To ensure high yields, officials from the Agricultural Advisory Committee and the Township Agriculture Department are conducting field visits and providing farmers with necessary support, including guidance on agricultural techniques, planting methods, and pest control.— Township IPRD
