Hsihseng, 5 March

The Opium Plantation Eradication Team has successfully destroyed illegal opium plantations in Hsihseng Township, located in the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone of southern Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

A combined team led by Police Deputy Superintendent Win Zaw Oo and his team members, the Acting Police Chief of Hsihseng Township, Tatmadaw personnel from the local military base and departmental officials carried out the eradication of the poppy fields. Among the destroyed plantations were 11 acres of blooming poppies, approximately three feet tall, situated about two miles northeast of Lwemant Village in Hsihseng Township.
