IN a bid to promote fitness and well-being among young people, a fitness dance train­ing course was launched at the Community Centre Hall of the Information and Pub­lic Relations (IPRD) Depart­ment in Thaegon Township, Nattalin District, Bago Re­gion, yesterday.

 

The course is jointly organized by the IPRD, the Department of Sports and Physical Education and the Department of Basic Edu­cation and aims to foster the all-round development of students and youths to have healthy and active lifestyles.

 

The opening ceremony took place at 10 am yesterday, with an address by Daw Hla Hla Shwe, Chairperson of the Township Women’s Affairs Organization. This was fol­lowed by a speech from Daw Pyae Phyo Thu, Assistant Staff Officer of the IPRD, who highlighted the objectives of the training. She emphasized the importance of physical fitness in complementing academic development and noted that engaging in fit­ness dance would help young people stay active and make productive use of their sum­mer holidays.

 

Daw Nway Nway Khaing Zin, a sports instructor from the Township Department of Sports and Physical Educa­tion further explained that aerobics is not just a form of exercise but also a valua­ble practice for maintaining good health. She encouraged participation in foundation­al sports training during the summer break to nurture the next generation of athletes and promote greater interest in sports among youths.

 

Following the speech­es, Daw Nway Nway Khaing Zin conducted the training session especially the basic steps of fitness dance. The daily training runs from 18 to 26 March (9 am to 10 am), with 20 participants enrolled. — Maung Shwe Win (Pyay)/ KZL
