UNION Minister for Infor­mation U Maung Maung Ohn met with Venerable Shartse Khensur Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden, General Secretary of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC), a Bud­dhist organization under In­dia’s Ministry of Culture, and his team at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw at 10 am yesterday.

During the meeting, they had cordial discussions on the development of Buddhism not only in the five Buddhist countries but also globally, the spread of the Pali lan­guage, Myanmar-India friend­ship and ongoing cooperation in the media sector, living in accordance with the five principles of peaceful coex­istence, and cooperation in media training between the two countries.

The meeting was attend­ed by Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, the Permanent Secre­tary, departmental officials, and representatives from the International Buddhist Con­federation (IBC). — MNA/TH
