FAMOUS artistes will perform Anyeint Pwe and stage show at the Mann Shwesettaw pagoda festival in Minbu (Sagu), Minbu district of Magway Region, on 18 and 19 March, according to the pagoda board of trustees.

 

‘Min Htwe’ Zet Thabin Troupe will organize a two-day free Anyeint Pwe and stage show with Myanmar traditional male dancer and female dancers – Min Htwe, Chaw Thein Chit Su (Kyaukpadaung), May Bo Bo, vocalists -Chaw Kalet, Thurein Soe (Hlwan Moe Alwan Pyay), comedians -Sein Khe, Kan Pwint, Aung Hein and Lan Lan, accom­panied with Shwe Khine Zaw Mingalar Hsaing Waing at the stage near the entrance bridge of Mann Shwesettaw pagoda festi­val on 18 and 19 march (4th and 5th waning of Taboung), said U Aye Ko, chairman of pagoda board of trustees.

 

The Mann Shwesettaw Pago­da is a significant and renowned sacred pagoda in Myanmar, and it is known for hosting the longest pagoda festival in the country. This year, the Mann Shwesettaw Pada Zedi Taw Buddha Pujaniya pagoda festival is being held from 2 February to 17 April including the Thingyan holidays (from the 5th waning of Tabodwe to the 1st day of Myanmar new year) for 75 days.

 

The pagoda hosts a total of 15,363 pilgrims and over 3,100 ve­hicles during the festival days, including five holidays of the Ta­boung season, to date. The festi­val is mostly crowded with visi­tors after the matric exam (basic education) and Maha Thingyan holidays in addition to Taboung month. — Maung Maung (Min­bu)/KTZH
