UNION Minister for Industry Dr Charlie Than visited No 24 Heavy Industry (Dagon) in Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region yesterday morning.

During the inspection, the factory manager gave information regarding the factory’s operations and production activities. In response, the Union Minister emphasized the importance of attracting both domestic and foreign investors to meet the country’s electricity demands and ensure the continued production of solar panels. He also highlighted the need to efficiently manage ministry-owned assets, continuously improve staff skills through learning and training in line with evolving technologies and implement strategies to enhance the performance of workers.

Following the visit to the factory, the Union Minister went to Shwe Katha Company Limited in Hline Township, which rents electronic equipment and electric motor factory. He then observed the production process of solar panels.

In a meeting with officials at the factory, the Union Minister discussed the use of solar panels not only for residential purposes but also for industrial applications. He stressed the importance of ensuring that products are reliable and of high quality, which would foster public trust in their use. Furthermore, the production process must undergo systematic quality checks at each stage.

He also mentioned the need to expand the production of solar panels in response to increasing market demand. He noted that sustainable market presence depends on careful and continuous market research, and the factory must conduct extensive market research to ensure long-term viability. The Union Minister coordinated with the responsible officials to address these matters. — MNA/KZL
