The opening ceremony of the new concrete road connecting Ingla-Kanyingsan-KanthonSint village in Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region, was held this afternoon to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day. The project was implemented by the Rural Development Department under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development.

The event was attended by Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, regional ministers, U Thet Zaw (Director of the Region's Rural Development Department), and other officials, along with District and Township Administration Body chairmen and staff.

During the ceremony, the Region Chief Minister delivered a speech, followed by Director U Thet Zaw, who provided an update on the status of the project. A local resident also expressed gratitude for the development.

Afterward, Minister for the Regional Ministry of Natural Resources U Zaw Win, Director U Thet Zaw, and other officials cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the road. The Chief Minister and his team then inspected the new road and greeted local residents. The Chief Minister also presented awards to the entertainment groups that participated in the opening ceremony.

The new concrete road, which is 15,840 feet long and 10 feet wide, will benefit residents from six villages in the Township.—San Kyaw Oo (IPRD)
