THE best time to travel in PutaO, Kachin State, is until the end of April, with a balanced temperature and humidity, allowing both domestic and international tourists to enjoy visits, said Ko Moe Min Thein (PutaO) from Trekking in Myanmar.

The best time to visit Putao is from November to the end of April when temperatures are moderate and the weather is ideal for hiking and mountain biking. It is also a great time to explore the natural beauty and glaciers.

Domestic visitors can go on trips to downtown and outskirts of Putao as well as climbing, and foreigners can make day trips to 11 wards in Putao, Kaungmulon-Namkham-Machanbaw-Mulashidi- Mudon-Sea of Clouds, and nearby small villages, he said.

Foreigners are advised to bring 10 copies of their passports and visas when visiting inner Putao.

Despite having many natural forests and glaciers, Patio’s weather changes quickly, so on cloudy days, ice-capped mountains are not visible, getting much rain from May to September-October with some hot intervals.
