A Myanmar high-level delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw Tatmadaw Airport by a special plane at 2 pm yesterday to attend the Sixth BIMSTEC Summit to be held in Thailand.
The Senior General and party were seen off at the airport by SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the Council Secretary, council members, Union ministers, the Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air), senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, Ambassador of Thailand to Myanmar Mr Suphatra Srimaitreephithak and officials.
The Senior General was accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Than Swe and Admiral Moe Aung, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, military and civilian officials.
The Myanmar high-level delegation led by the Senior General arrived at Wing 6 of Don Mueang Airport in Thailand at 3.50 pm Thai Standard Time. The delegation was welcomed by Thailand’s Minister of Labour Mr Phiphat Ratchakitprakan, Myanmar Ambassador to Thailand U Zaw Zaw Soe and officials.
During the trip, the SAC Chairman and Prime Minister will attend the Sixth BIMSTEC Summit, with a plan to meet the Heads of Government who attend the Summit to talk about the situation of Myanmar in the earthquake disaster and the potential for cooperation with the international community to carry out rescue, relief and rehabilitation measures effectively. — MNA/TTA
