A ceremony was held on 8 April at the Esperado Lake Hotel on Kanyeiktha Road, Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, where the Interfaith Friend­ship Group and donors donated K1.06 billion to Arkani Muslim Aid (AMAID), an organization supporting earthquake-affected people in Sagaing and Mandalay regions.

 

At the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence to express their condolences to those affected by the Man­dalay earthquake. Shwekaba U Maung Maung delivered the opening speech, after which U Khin Maung Zaw and U Hla Win from AMAID shared their experiences from their donation visits to Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, respectively.

 

Additionally, AMAID Pa­tron U Aung Zaw Win explained how to more effectively partici­pate in the relief and rehabilita­tion efforts in the earthquake-af­fected areas and donated funds. Meanwhile, AMAID Chairman U Khin Maung Lwin spoke about the Mandalay earthquake relief fund. — ASH/TH
