A ceremony was held on 8 April at the Esperado Lake Hotel on Kanyeiktha Road, Mayangon Township, Yangon Region, where the Interfaith Friendship Group and donors donated K1.06 billion to Arkani Muslim Aid (AMAID), an organization supporting earthquake-affected people in Sagaing and Mandalay regions.
At the ceremony, attendees observed a minute of silence to express their condolences to those affected by the Mandalay earthquake. Shwekaba U Maung Maung delivered the opening speech, after which U Khin Maung Zaw and U Hla Win from AMAID shared their experiences from their donation visits to Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, respectively.
Additionally, AMAID Patron U Aung Zaw Win explained how to more effectively participate in the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the earthquake-affected areas and donated funds. Meanwhile, AMAID Chairman U Khin Maung Lwin spoke about the Mandalay earthquake relief fund. — ASH/TH
