UNION Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Myanmar Diplomatic Academy, held yesterday at the compound of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nay Pyi Taw.
Also present at the ceremony were U Ko Ko Kyaw and U Naing Min Kyaw, Deputy Ministers for Foreign Affairs, the permanent secretary, directors-general, representatives of Mother Development Co Ltd, undertaking the construction of the Academy, and the respective officials from the Ministry.
The Union minister, deputy ministers, and a representative of Mother Development Co Ltd laid stakes at the designated places and sprinkled scented water on them.
Upon completion, the Ministry will expand its training and educational programmes to systematically develop foreign service personnel into highly qualified, next-generation diplomats, while also sharing knowledge on international and diplomatic affairs with interested individuals, including staff from various government organizations and ministries. — MNA
