PYITHU Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi paid homage to an eight-member team led by Sayadaw Bhadd­anta Ñanapala from the Yamanya Nikaya Mon­astery in Ye Township in Mon State on their trip to observe the convention of the ninth-day meeting of the second regular session of the Third Py­ithu Hluttaw, at the guest hall of the Pyithu Hlut­taw building yesterday morning.

 

On the occasion, the Speaker explained in Hluttaw sessions, the issues directly benefiting the public, such as pro­moting the interests and welfare of farmers and en­suring price stability are being fully implemented as representative actions on behalf of the people by raising questions to minis­tries and submitting mo­tions through the Hluttaw.

 

He added that the Hluttaw has been wide­ly carrying out efforts to raise greater awareness of the Hluttaw by ex­tending invitations and making arrangements in order to enable visits such as Hluttaw study tours, establishing and launch­ing Hluttaw websites, as well as utilizing other so­cial media platforms.

 

Also present at the meeting were Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Maung Maung Ohn and Pyithu Hluttaw representative Daw Mi Myint Than from the Ye Constituency in Mon State. — MNA/TTA
