SECURITY forces have cleared and safely re­moved a total of 20 impro­vised mines planted near Twinma village in Myaing Township, Magway Re­gion, along the Kanma– Myaing road.

 

According to reports, PDF-linked armed groups allegedly placed various types of explosive devices along the road linking Pa­kokku Township, Kanma, and Myaing Township, with the intention of caus­ing casualties, damage, and disruption to trans­port.

 

Following information provided by residents, se­curity forces carried out area security measures and continued mine-clear­ance operations along the route.

 

On 16 June, person­nel discovered and safe­ly cleared 20 improvised explosive devices on both sides of the road near Twinma village. These included eight large vehi­cle mines made from oil drums, three small vehicle mines made from yellow plastic containers, five im­provised directional mines, and four PVC pipe-based devices.

 

Officials confirmed that all devices were safe­ly rendered inactive and systematically removed.

 

Authorities added that security operations and le­gal action are continuing to identify and apprehend those responsible, while ensuring the safety of pub­lic transport routes in the area. — MNA/KZL
