A workshop on the implementation of rural development programs, second cycle of people-oriented projects being undertaken by Rural Development Department under the ministry of Agriculture, Livestock Breeding and Irrigation was conducted at Khranku hall in Manaw ground in Doattan ward in the town of Putao, Putao district, Kachin state yesterday morning.

 First, MP U Yaw Si of Kachin State Hlttaw, Head of the District Rural Development Department U Aung Zaw Lin made opening speeches. Then, U Htay Myint, head of the Township RDD dealt with the aim of the workshop. Afterwards, responsible persons from INGOs and NGOs presented villagers with development projects being undertaken in villages in Putao. 

In the afternoon session, village-tract administrators and village-tract project supportive committees were divided into four groups to discuss challenges faced by villages, needs and advantages of the projects.—Phonkan ( Putao )
