A ceremony to open a new concrete road built under the financial assistance of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was held in Taung Kyaungsu village, Ywama village tract, Dekkina Thiri township, Nay Pyi Taw this morning.  First Nay Pyi Taw councilor U Aye Maung Sein, Mp U Thant Zin Tun of Pyithu Hluttaw, Manager Mr. Lee Soung Won of Saemaul Undong Projects in Myanmar cut a ribbon to formally open the road and inspected it.

Then, Nay Pyi Taw councilor U Aye Maung Sein made an opening speech. Then, MP U Thant Zin called on local people to actively participate in the development works of the village. Mr. Lee Soung Won congratulated local people and lauded their role in implementing village development works under Saemaul Undong Projects in Myanmar during his address at the ceremony.

           

After that, U Than Win, chairman of Saemaul Undong Projects in Taung Kyaungsu village spoke words of thanks on behalf of the villagers. The new concrete road opened today is 1150 feet long, and it was constructed at a cost of over K 18.1 million from the fund of SMU projects and contributions made by the villagers.—Shwe Kokko
