With the cooperation from Embassy of India in Yangon, Myanmar India International Business Federation organized Deepavali festival in front of the Yangon City Hall in Yangon yesterday.

The celebration was attended by Union Minister for Labour, Immigration and Population U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Kyi Min, Yangon Region Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, ambassadors from foreign embassies in Yangon, officials from Myanmar India International Business Federation and All Myanmar Tamil Hindu Foundation (Central)-AMTHF, Hindu people and invited guests.

Union Minister U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister U Kyi Min, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, Indian Ambassador, German Ambassador, Nepali Ambassador and Chairman of Myanmar India International Business Federation opened the event by cutting ceremonial ribbons and then posed for a group photo.

Afterwards, Union Minister U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister U Kyi Min, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, ambassadors and officials from Myanmar India International Business Federation lighted oil lamps to mark the Deepavali celebration.

U Zaw Zaw Naing, the Chairman of Myanmar India International Business Federation, made greeting remark and Advisor of AMTHF U Kyaw Thu explained the Deepavali celebration.

Then, Union Minister U Thein Swe, Deputy Minister U Kyi Min, Rakhine Ethnic Affairs Minister U Zaw Aye Maung, ambassadors made remarks.

Hindu traditional dances and modern dances were also performed at the event by the dance troupes including artists from the Embassy of India, Muth Tamil cultural troupe from Dala, Anitha Dance Group, Garet Three dance troupe and Vijay Dance Group.—MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
