The opening ceremony of a refresher course for auxiliary firefighters was held at the meeting hall of the township Fire Services Department in Kawthoung township in Myanmar’s southern Taninthayi region this morning. 

First, acting township administrator U Than Myo Aung made an opening speech. Then,  U Aung Nyein Oo, head of Kawthoung district Fire Services Department explained the aim of the course and the work processes. After that, officials presented uniforms and stationary to the auxiliary firefighters. 

The one-month refresher course is intended to train auxiliary firefighters in villages and wards in the township to protect the property and the lives of local people in case of fire, to cope with natural disasters, to conduct rescue works efficiently, to actively participate in social activities.—Kyaw Soe ( Kawthoung)
