The Mandalay Regional Government organized an event to mark the International Day of Persons with Disabilities at City Hall in Chanayethazan Township this morning under this year theme, “The future is accessible”.

At the ceremony, Regional Minister for Natural Resource and Environmental Conservation U Myo Thit delivered an opening speech and UNICEF’s Mandalay Bureau chief U Than Kyaw Soe read out the message sent by the UN Secretary-General. Next, the regional minister and concerned officials awarded prizes to gold medalists at 30th Myanmar Para Games and 15th Myanmar Autism Games and prize winners in basic education level essay and chess contests.

The event was also participated by region-level departmental staff, representatives from different organizations and invited guests.—Than Zaw Min (IPRD)
