With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, loans to implement emerald green projects were disbursed to farmers at the Monastery of Kalaing Village in ThanatpinTownship, Bago Region this morning. The disbursement of loan is the second of its kind.

First of all, staff officer of the Township Department of Rural Development U Win Naing Oo clarified the purpose of the project and explained rules and procedures of the emerald green project to be abode by rural people.

Then, Win Naing Oo and staff from the township DRD dispensed K 33.9 million to farmers in the village. Altogether 290 people—117 people in agriculture business, 90 in livestock breeding business and 83 in trading business received loans of the project.—Thein Myint Kyaw
