A mass rally was held in Toungoo, Bago Region, yesterday to support State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who will contest the case filed by Gambia at the International Court of Justice-ICJ.

Over 10,000 people comprised of local people from townships in Toungoo District, service personnel from governmental departments, Hluttaw representatives, teachers, representatives from organizations and philanthropic organizations participated in the rally.

People took part in the rally holding placards and shouting slogans reading “We support the State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who defends the national interest,” “The task to defends the interest of the State must be successful” and “Myanmar’s journey to democracy must be successful.” — Thura (Toungoo)
