A ceremony to wrap up a Basic Disaster Management Course, organized by Department of Disaster Management under Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, was held at the meeting hall of the township General Administration Department in Kyunsu Township, Myeik Districkt, Taninthayi Region yesterday.

First, the township Acting Administrator U Kyaw Thi Ha delivered an opening speech and called on the trainees to practically apply the lessons learned in the training to reduce disaster in their home towns and villages. This was followed by the presentation of completion certificates to the trainees by Daw Tin Tin Cho of the township Department of Disaster Management.

The three-day training course which ran from December 18-20 was attended by 30 trainees from the township Department of Disaster Management Committee, wards and village-tracks.—Sithura Aung
