The construction of a four-storey “Aung Thukha” hospital in the compound of 500-beded people’s hospital has been so far 75 percent finished in the town of Bago, Bago region.
The presiding monk at “Aung Thukha” Dhamma retreat and donors make a generous donation of K 2500 million ( about US$ 1.7 million) to the construction of the hospital. The construction works started on 1st November, 2018 and are scheduled to complete in May, 2020, according to U Than Lwin, project manager from Rain Forest Co Ltd.
Four four-storey buildings for the staff are also being erected in the compound of 500-beded people’s hospital with funds provided by the union government. Besides, a tube well is being dug with the financial assistance provided by donor U Ngwe Shein (Golden Rabbit family).
All hospital staff at Bago people’s hospital has been working in close cooperation with stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and to meet the safety standards. The hospital sets the aim of becoming a reliable hospital of good standards for people from all walks of life, providing quality health cares. 500-beded Bago people’s hospital has drawn a strategic action plan to develop its medical services with the use of techniques practicing in Japan hospitals. The hospital has achieved improvements in medical services over the past two years, according to the records of the hospital.
It is known that local residents are satisfied with the significant improvements not only in quality facilities but also in medical services such as clean magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan service, clean toilets, the extension of surgical wards, the construction of four-storey “Aung Thukha hospital and free medical services provided by the 500-beded people’s hospital to the underprivileged.—Tin Soe (Bago) Translated by Aung Zaw Lin
