With the aim of boosting the income of local people and their socio-economic status, loans for emerald green project were disbursed to farmers in wetlet Township yesterday.

First, an official from the township Department of Rural Development clarified the purpose of the project and explained rules and procedures of the project to be followed by rural people.   

Then, staff from the township Department of Rural Development dispensed K 19.4 million to farmers at B.E.P.S in Ywathar Village in Wetlet Township. Altogether 105 people including 91 people in Agriculture business and 14 in Livestock breeding business received Loans of project. The disbursement of loans in Ywathar Village is the first of its kind.

Then, staff from DRD went to Shinmaka Village and disbursed K 44.9 million to farmers at the Dhamayone in the Village. Altogether 449 people—74 people in agriculture business, 74 in livestock breeding business, 17 in fisheries business and 284 in trading business received loans of the project. The disbursement of loans in Shinmak Village is the fifth of its kind, it is learnt.—Soe Soe Hlaing(Wetlet)
