A ceremony to hand over funds of village development project (VDP) to villages in Yangon Southern District was held at Yangon Southern District Department of Rural Development on 6 February.

At the ceremony, MP U Zaw Lwin Moe of Regional Hluttaw gave opening remarks and an official from the Region Department of Rural Development clarified the procedures that have been undertaken by the department.

Next, an official from the Yangon Southern District Department of Rural Development also explained the developmental works that will be implemented in Yangon Southern District.

Ten villages of Emerald Green Project were disbursed funds of the project at a rate of K 30,000,000 per village. As well 74 villages of VDP were distributed funds of the project at a rate of K 10,000,000 per village.

Present on the occasion were MPs of regional Hluttaw, officials from the Department of Rural Development, departmental personnel, village administrators and members of village committee.
