Aunglan, 12 February

 

The 3rd All Aunglan Township Mass Cycling Event took place in the town of Aunglan, Magway region at 6:30 am today. The event was organized by Aunglan Cycling Club in order to mark the 73rd Union Day which falls on 12 February.

 

The event started in front of “Shinmataung” bicycle spare part shop on Pyi road in Zeyawadi ward, with the participants riding their bicycles round the town. They finally entered into a playground in Tayawgone ward where the event finished. Mobile phone operator Ooredoo provided the cyclists with sports shirts, back packs and umbrellas.

 

Aunglan Cycling Club and well-wishers also provided snacks and drinking water to the cyclists. The draw for a bicycle and other prizes took place at the event. A total of over 800 amateur cyclists participated in the event.—Thein Lwin (Aung Lan)
